Meat Trolley – The Backbone of Food Processing Efficiency

Meat trolleys play a critical role in modern food processing factories, helping ensure efficiency, hygiene, and consistency. The trolleys facilitate easy transportation of raw materials from one stage of processing to the next, reducing manual handling and the risk of contamination. By streamlining the flow of ingredients, meat trolleys enhance productivity while maintaining the highest levels of food safety.

Their application does not stop at transportation; they are used for batch preparation, weighing, and mixing processes, helping manufacturers maintain precise ingredient ratios. Since they can be seamlessly operated together with various machinery, such as grinders, cutters, and filling machines, these trolleys play an important role in ensuring a continuous production flow.

Defining Dimensions: The Impact of DIN 9797

The introduction of the DIN 9797 standard in 1988 marked a key milestone in meat trolley standardization. It set clear specifications for Euro-style trolleys, ensuring they were compatible across different food processing systems. By defining dimensions, materials, and load capacities, the standard made it easier for manufacturers to streamline production.

“The standard improved efficiency, allowing trolleys to integrate smoothly into automated workflows and be used interchangeably between facilities. It also strengthened hygiene and durability requirements, helping the industry meet strict food safety regulations. Of course, all our trolleys fully comply with the DIN 9797 standard, ensuring compatibility with most machines and equipment used in food production”, says Martin Olsson, CEO of Nimo-KG.

Swedish Food Industry Giant Invests in New Lifting Technology from Nimo-KG

One of Sweden’s largest food processing companies has placed an order for nine new lifts from Nimo-KG. The investment is part of a comprehensive modernization effort where the existing machinery is being updated with the latest solutions for safe and efficient product handling.

“We’ve delivered a large number of lifts to this customer over the years, and now it’s time to start updating them. The machines being replaced were delivered in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, meaning they’ve been in operation for 25 to 50 years. It’s necessary to invest in new technology to continue ensuring high operational reliability and a safe working environment,” says Martin Olsson, CEO of Nimo-KG.

The new machines to be installed at the Swedish food company – the SKV 300 C4 single-column lift with cage – are specially developed to offer maximum safety and are carefully adapted for each specific location in the customer’s production facility. Nimo-KG has carried out a detailed process to measure the existing systems and ensure perfect integration of the new equipment.

“The SKV 300 C4 lift is the latest improved generation of our best-selling single-column lifts for meat trolleys. We tailor them to the customer’s requests and needs regarding discharge heights, stationary or mobile solutions, with or without a cage, straight or side tipping, right- or left-hand design, and so on.”

The customer is one of Sweden’s largest companies in the food industry, with a turnover of around SEK 3 billion. The order marks the beginning of a longer modernization process, and Martin Olsson aims to continue delivering more machines going forward.

“We see great potential to continuously contribute to the efficiency and safety of their production through further upgrades in the future.”
