Time to upgrade your lifting and tipping equipment? Why investing in new machines pays off

Nimo-KG has been supplying lifting and tipping equipment to the food and manufacturing industries since 1958. Many of the machines delivered in the 1970s, 80s and 90s are still in operation today — proof of their robust construction and reliable technology. But even the most durable equipment eventually reaches the end of its lifecycle.

“Replacing older machines isn’t just about swapping out something that’s worn out. It’s about modernising and futureproofing the production process to achieve higher capacity, improved ergonomics, and a safer working environment for employees”, says Martin Olsson, CEO of Nimo-KG.

Across the food industry, more and more producers are choosing to update their production lines. This development is driven both by the need to streamline operations and by stricter requirements for workplace safety and reliability. At the same time, technology is evolving rapidly — today’s production environments are far more automated, flexible and digitalised than just a few decades ago.

“Many of our customers have used our machines for 30–40 years. They’ve done their job well, but the industry has changed a lot. When spare parts become difficult to find and safety requirements are tightened, it’s time to review the equipment fleet”, says Martin Olsson.

Nimo-KG recently delivered a number of new lifting and tipping systems to a major Swedish food producer, replacing older units. The delivery also included three custom-built box tippers developed specifically for a new production line.

“It’s a major investment in a completely new line. Our task has been to develop solutions that combine safe handling, high capacity and stable performance. The upgrade will have an immediate impact on day-to-day production”, says Martin Olsson.

Future-proof technology for long-term value

For Nimo-KG, it’s all about providing customers with technology that meets the demands of the future. When older equipment is replaced, production becomes safer, more efficient and better adapted to modern workflows.

“Every production environment is unique, and we always start from the customer’s needs. A Nimo-KG machine should last for decades — and at the same time contribute to safer, smarter and more sustainable production over time”, says Martin Olsson.
